Adjusting Double Pumper

What's the procedure for adjusting the idle circuits on a double pumper? Should you completely close the secondaries and adjust the primaries then close the primaries and adjust the secondary mixture screws? Or just try to get the best vacuum reading by adjusting each corner one at a time? Thanks and Happy New Year!

Pull the carb off and measure, with a feeler gauge, how much both sets of throttle blades are opened at now, then reset them to be equal and put the carb back on. I would(and do) start with the mixture screws adjusted 1.5 turns out from bottomed out, then adjust the idle speed screws on both ends to get the RPM you want. I like to set the distributor up to have at least 14 degrees initial timing, closer to 18 if possible and set the total timing at 34 to 36 degrees It's a lot easier to get a motor to idle clean with more initial advance than stock
