1960 Seneca question

What is the black "Brake" knob on the dash for? It isn't even shown in the owners manual.

To release the parking brake, no "park" on these cars. You'll find a drum on the end of the tranny, that engages when you push the little pedal on the left down.

There is also a handle above the E brake pedal...
