Id like to plan my project turbo 383. I was wondering what would be a good single turbo for a mild 383 . I have a set of block hugger headers i will use, and i can fab pretty much all the piping/exhaust.

I was wondering if this kit would be worth the money if the turbo is big enough?

nope, not even close, that's a small guy. For a single on a 383 you want to be looking at something bigger than a T70, a 72 or 76 is pretty common. Depending on how much HP you want to make and your desired rpm range a T6 .96 a/r turbine housing for a responsive street car or a T6 1.23-1.32 a/r housing for more HP/higher rpm.
You'll see the Borg Warner s400 series mentioned as well as the old garrett TV75* and TV81/83 series mentioned as you search for info.

Look for a T76 or an S400. A T4 turbine might choke a 383 a bit at higher RPM, a T6 will flow much better but it's larger as far as fitment. Everything in life is a tradeoff...

This place has some ~$650 ones. The S400-72 or -75 with the 1.10 and 83mm turbine wheel is probably what I'll get for my 400 (if I ever get around to it).

I disagree. That turbo will work fine. My turbo specs are almost identical.

One small think to keep in mind..... You'll need TWO of them to feed a 383....

He specified that it was a single turbo build. In pars the selected turbo would work.

Running just one would be a foolhardy venture at best.
