If you've been thinking about switching then you are ready, and you WON'T regret it!!
I have 2 of the lightweight Powermaster batteries and they are simply awesome. Turns my 1000hp and 1100hp motors like they have no sparkplugs in them.
Only con I can think of is you need to keep them fully charged as they don't have a lot of reserve.

I decided to run an alternator this year but after learning how much better all would be with 16V especially ignition output. How ever my 12v batteries were new. I came across the Powermaster XS series that has adjustable voltage and comes in any case sizes. I can run it with the 12v now and even raise it's voltage output a hair then later flip the button and switch to 16v when I wear out these batterie. the can make as much as 18v. better to have more than not enough juice

16v ignition is much higher spark

The pros are that everything in the system will work more efficiently. Your starter will turn over much faster then it does then with a 12. Even if its down on charge abit.

The only con is you will need have a upgraded charging system for the 16 volt bat. Still worth it IMO

They are hard on certain data loggers without a step down relay and the Moroso accusump solinoid definately needs a step down,as I fried 3 of them before I found out. Other than that I love the 16V system.

My car was set up as 16V when built and all of that stuff has the step down relays, but I would call the manufacturers and ask. From what alot of people say, you probably don't need them, but if you have the electric solinoid on an accusump, I know that needs it. Then again, after our conversation earlier you said you had a dry sump set up, so just check with the manufacturers to be sure. You'll like it though. Like folks said, when the voltage gets below 16V, school's out, so a voltage gauge and alternator are a good idea.
