From RyanJ: Quote:
I had a 416" bracket motor on dyno earlier this year, made 619 HP/540TQ, 12.4:1, 267 @ .050" roller .680" with a set of Stage 2 E heads with stock Edelbrock 2.02 valves. With 1 5/8" TTI's it's in the 590s (had big tube dyno headers on for the 620HP pulls) & it has been best of 10.47 @ 128 So far this year @ 3120 lbs. We're gonna change headers out to set of 1 7/8 Heddmans & work on 60' for next year looking for 10.20's. & like I said that is a stock E head valve with stage 2 type port job flowing in the upper 270's on intake side, low 200's exhaust.
I figure the 12:1 414 in my car ought to be a solid 550-ish hp even with the 1 5/8"'s and the same port work Ryan describes above....which is PLENTY for my little sub 3000 lb w/d car to go have some fun with, my cam being a bit lower lift the small-ish headers are maybe costing me 20-25, but hey, they FIT!!
