I don't know about that oil in particular. But in general multiviscosity oils don't hold their hot viscosity as long as straight weight oils. So with such a large multi-vis rating, it might suffer from viscosity breakdown sooner. But if you change it every week or so, that shouldn't be a factor.
at 9.99 per qt.
It would be a good oil for a Le Mans type car. For a drag car why bother

Features & Potential BenefitsApplications Boosted levels of anti-wear protection — well beyond those of ordinary automotive oils Helps protect engines even during grueling racing applications. Helps maximize power output by reducing internal friction. Reduces internal friction Helps maximize power output. Outstanding shear stability and a robust additive package Helps reduce oil breakdown and help to extend engine life, even under some of the most extreme conditions. Compared to conventional racing oils and higher-viscosity synthetic motor oils Provides faster flow to critical engine parts at low temperatures. High-temperature protection Helps deliver exceptional high-temperature protection, even at temperatures in excess of 400ºF (204ºC). Isn't that true of all syntho oils?

I used to be a big believer in synthetic oil but now I think that generally it's a waste of money.
I have done a lot of oil testing in my Stockers and for the most part Bob is right. Between the fastest oil and the old Napa 75-100 10W40 Valvoline based dino oil there is .07-.09. In a class car that is a ton but for a bracket car I do not know if I would spend the extra money. I have found RP #9 to be the best compromise for cost, ET, and durability. I do change out for heads up runs though.
If you compare with a synthetic blend 5w20 there will be only 2-3 hundredths difference. It's really just the lighter viscosity that allows the gains. When I ran my stocker we only found a couple of hundredths using 5w20 Mobil One over a generic 10w40. When you start getting real light expect to see more engine wear.

Hi Holgar. Care to elaborate a bit? Thanks. On the Gibbs stuff...
