Thanks for the tour Hans, That Lavender 58 Olds 98 is now my screen saver! Those restored industrial buildings are really neat too. I'm going to go to Finland some day and visit my friend George Bremer.

Thanks again, always a pleasure to share pics! Here is another pic of the 1958 Adventurer; Here is a Swedish guy with no less than THREE of the 82 Adventurer convertibles made in 1958. He has won the best car award 6 times on Power Meet. Years ago one Adventurer he had restored went to a sheik in Saudi Arabia; http://www.nwt.se/ArticlePages/200803/13/20080313172007_670/20080313172007_670.dbp.aspTim, welcome to Finland! I really think you should make your trip when you can combine it with a major meet in Sweden. The ferry ride to Sweden through the archipelago might be pretty nice to experience. I am not sure but I assume the popularity of the big cars is due to the fact that small cars have always been the norm in Europe. Big cars in general (well, even an A-body was big here back in the day) were just a dream for most people,to buy a Monaco or New Yorker you had to be fairly wealthy. They just weren't everywhere like in the US. So, even today,a lot of the classics imported are full size cars. Or like one my friends said in his unlimited wisdom; "I have been thinking and thinking and I have not found a single reason why a car should be small"! Hans

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it there (again), but a couple of friends were there, and they brought back a nice little souvenir: http://picasaweb.google.com/jeniiczech/2008_07_07
Hey that's a really nice score! Looks to be in very good shape! I see it has Swedish plates, did your friends plan the buy beforehand or did they just stumble on it during the trip?

Everytime you post pics like these, I keep an eye out for my GTX that a guy in Sweden bought from me 3 years ago. Awesome photos and a very beautiful country.
Uh oh, I have been thinking of going through my slides as I still believe I have a pic of it! Sorry, they are a bit hard to get to but I will try to get it done eventually! Thanks for the good words!

Furious, sent you a PM! Carsten, we sure have to meet one of these days. My budget is screwed though, cant make it to any other cool meets this year Carmine, yeah, you have to come here at some point. Lots to see for a C-body geek! Whats the deal with your latest project? Colors etc? Did I ever get back to you about those dash pads and stuff? Anyway, the pads are not yet available but they would probably be even more costly than Just Dashes. Makes sense still for here when you dont have to ship across the globe but unfortunately not for you The door panels are not available but that might be arranged. He was supposed to check but never got back to me. I could give him another call. Dunno about the beer cans as I dont drink, lol! I assume it has to be unopened though My genius friend is a lurker here, Jsmart,he used to have a 1974 Monaco Brougham 2dHT, orig 440 car. That one should have been a keeper... BobAsh, Too bad to hear about your friends mishap, hope the car finds a good home! Hans
