From VMP 2 weeks ago and he got down to the last 3 cars footbraking! The new Hemi was running 9.50's all day sporting a original Mag. crossram!
If someone can post the pic., please do. I love seeing these Legends show up and kicking butt!

What was NOT mentioned in the original post was the Winner of the Foot brake class on Saturday's race was none other than the OP.

Congratulations Darrell, that was a lot of rounds due to the large turnout and the Arrow ended up on top of it all.

Guys the point of the thread is to say how big of a thrill it is to run with these legends while they still are alive and want to race! At this show I spent alot of time with Ed Hedrick (age 73) who was Don Yenko's #1 man running SS/E in 69' which is the most sought after Yenko car to date that can't be found. He also ran Bill Stiles 70' Pro-Stock Duster. Ed currently races a early 70' Nova with a BB (mid 10s) and is a hoot to hang out with like EM! I have fun with them bracket racing win or loose!
Fred, great pic of the 65'!! I was so glad Fezel brought it to Henderson this past year!!

That '91 car is still around. When Ed raced it, it was a hemi and 4 speed. It's still a hemi, but with a t-flite

I felt that I was in good company when I set up at the downtown Henderson show in 2009. Eugene Coarde on parked one side of my Hemi Cuda, and Ed Miller on the other side. Ed's wife was even giving out my phone number off my car to people who wanted fiberglass parts. I even met the notorious "Hemi Fred". Great time with good people.
