Some tracks do not allow quads, make sure you check where you are going to race.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I use a golf cart....it has a 1" shorter belt and an agressive driven clutch set up to tow with.Gas powered....rear overload springs..and a 660 watt stereo so we can hear the class calls on the tracks FM transmitter. Tows the boys junior mainly...but also tows the altered.

To the start line; the engine, that's what it's there for.

Occasionally Michelle's 67 Land Rover has pulled it AWAY from the starting line and up Blue Mountain but that is another subject entirely.

I've been pulled off the track a time or two but I drive it to the lanes and start it up every time to move it. I'm too lazy to push it.

Never understood towing to the lanes.. If you have any cooling system at all, what's the point..

I always shake my head in disbelief when I see S/C dragsters being towed to the lanes.. While running.. Okay...

What's up with that..

All I do know is it makes a complete mess of the lanes..

Chris..

the slow guys will never understand

I've used both but prefer the golf cart for many reasons. But a quad is more fun after hours!
When I ran the Firebird I drove up for first round then towed everywhere. I opted for electric golf cart and LOVED it. It towed my 2450# car with me in it and 2 fat guys on the cart with no problem! Sorry Alex! It would go all day/night on single charge. The sun here is brutal that and cart had a roof, nice to have when your baking in the lanes. Also nice to be able to sit while you wait, have some water, etc.

I don't think it is even legal to tow in SC or SG?? But I doubt it is enforced, I would do it if I had to.

Here is a reason you SLow guys have obviously never thought of. When you race a car with a very large hood scoop like mine there is limited visibility. Incredibly easy to hit something or someone. So towing for me was a safety issue as well. In fact even when driving up for first round I would follow my golf cart to clear the path. My hoodscoop was almost even with my roof.

When I was at Redemption 2 weeks ago I saw a trend that I thought was pretty cool. They seem to be pushing cars with carts and quads now rather than pulling. They use about a 7 or 8 foot bar with heim joints on either end connected to the parachute area and the cart or quad with a quick release pin. I also like the idea that you could push it right into the trailer too. Almost everyone there was doing that.

I pushing cars is a much better way to go. More control for the guy in the car that way.

Like I said I am not anywhere near fast enough to be towed. Seeing slow cars pulled ot the lanes juts looks ridiculous frankly. But that is just me. We will occasionally tow it back to the pits when working on the tune up, plug check etc. I do use a Yamaha gas golf cart to cruise the pits.
