Anyone use this style cooler?

Seen a couple of cars with this style cooler mounted below the car behind the front wheel off a subframe connector.

I really don't want to plumb the lines to the front of the car if these coolers work well.

Wondered how they worked from an efficiency standpoint for a lightly street driven car?

Thanks

Personally I would want something more substantial.

They are better than nothing but not great. If that answers your question.
I like the radiator front mounted units with 3/8" inlet and outlet with -6AN lines going up to the cooler.

Try and find a deep pan with the front to rear cooling tubes built into the bottom of the pan. Try to get as much heat as possible out directly at the source.

A friend of mine with a big block chevy/powerglide has run one for years with no trans. problems, he's pushing 900 + hp. He does also runs a remote trans. filter. the cooler is mounted under the car next to the trans.filter on the firewall.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

Rob, I don't use that one, but I do use that style. I have it mounted near where the bottom of the rear seat would be (under the car, near the rear axle), on the vertical bulk head. #5 stratoflex line running to and from it. Been on my car for many years, last 3 years close to 1,000 passes total. The transmission (727) has not been apart in 3 years. I foot brake this car, leaving at 3000 RPMs, sometimes on the convertor for over 10 sec @3000 when I spot the slower vehicles in the 1/4 mile Sportsman class.
So far, I've not had a problem.

I run a super cooler also.... no problems... they have
alot of surface area for cooling plus a big inlet and
outlet so no restriction in the cooler... I'm going
to put one on my trans AND my engine oil for my new car
