I got a fender that is rust free. BUT it seems to have been dragged down a pillar/wall.
Creased and filled with bondo.
Should I remove the bondo, fix first or get dipped/striped first then fix.

Anywhere that can dip/Strip a fender and two doors cheap, cheap, cheap in Toronto, ON?

It will be me attempting to straighten the fender, without mud.

Mud is a fact of life why avoid it? The dents should be taken out before mudding but there will be some mud.

Do a search for bodywork techniques than see what you have for tools and make the decision if you want to do it yourself or pay to have it done.

I agree, you have to use filler over metal work, however, it sounds like this has deep creases/dents that were filled with a half inch thick smear of bondo?

if so, yes, definitely remove the filler and work the metal a little bit, but in the end, you will have to have a skim coat of bondo and block sand it out. maybe 1/8" thick at the most is all you'll need if you do the hammer and dolly work correctly.

Thanks.
I am attempting the Fairmount Method. I have had basic attempts before on cars, but did indeed use metal based bondo.
It was a spitfire bonnet headlamp area, that overwhelmed my ability, But I was able to create a compond curve patch for the valance that required only spot putty, using English wheel.
I am assuming that my 70's parts are thick enough for this, As the book I am referencing was published in 1953, Bondo was then just a new product. Plus I have my Dad who is of that time. Except he likes bondo. I know this will be time consuming.

Hammer On, Hammer Off, Paint On, Wax On, Wax Off.
