A friend of mine has a 69 Dart GTS 383 4 speed car. He was looking on E bay for an oil pan for a 383 A body. He found an ad for a 66-72 C body pan,and the seller was claiming it would fit big block A bodies too. Does anyone know if it will fit? If it will does he need the pickup tube for that pan,or will the one on his 383 now work? If not what will? I think he said that the C body pan had a 699 number on it. Also is there a different pan for 383 a bodies verses 440 a bodies? Any help from the A body experts would be great. thanks Pete

the 699 is a preferred one for a big block abody. i believe it has a notch cut out of it that clears the steering nicely.

187 does work also , the pickup tube for the 70 up hemi pan is available new and can be made to work with the 187 pan .

383 and 440's used the same pan in A bodies

That's what I have on the 383 in my Duster - still had to give it a minor though.

I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave
