ok, i just found mini one wire chevy style denso alt for $74. it says it is a 50 amp, is that enough for a street car?
i have used the bigger denso's from intrepds and rams and they always worked great but i have no idea how many amp they are

Ray, you need atleast a 100 amp alternator for a street car w/ a lot of electric crap on it. My 100 amp is barely enough for my car, but my electric fan does draw a lot of juice.
I use the DMI low mount kit on mine by the way. Fits pretty good w/ the motorplate.

what alternator? the big denso is no problem on my challenger but on the A body it is a problem. notice in this pic i have the engine plate sitting on 1" pieces of wood to give it enough room. but they are not staying there, i just had to do that while i was dropping it in. i even cut some of the plate to give it more room.

Mine is the 100 amp Powermaster GM 1 wire that came in the kit that GregZ sold w/ the DMI bracket. One more reason I don't like motorplates w/ holes in them. I had to trim the bottom of mine to clear the alternator, but w/ the way mine is mounted, I have plenty of room. I have the big Comp Engineering solid plate. You have that cuda lookin good Ray!

This might help... Parts from Mancini Racing: Billet DMI Alt. bracket # BMAB040-R (88.95$) Billet DMI Alt. pulley # BMCT050-R (69.95$) Parts from Summit Racing: Powermaster 100Amp Alt. # PWM-8062 (239.95$) Pulley to Alt. # PWM-181 (26.95$) I had to modify one of the Alternator mounting brackets to line up the pulleys. I also had to make a small notch in the engine plate. http://forum.musclecars.nu/attachment.ph...mp;d=1296842515/Tom
