Ron, you are an inspiration for building good and fast.

I have a '38 ford truck cab and front clip out in the trees at the farm. Looking at it lately I noticed the seam over the windshield is kind of rusted. I can see light some places.

I see a similar seam on one of your cabs and got to thinking, what did you do under there? just weld in a Ron-formed patch or weld the seam closed or what? It needs to end up smooth and not rusty, that's all I know for sure.

Thanks,
R.

personally I dont like that seam over the front of the cab and on Squattie and the race truck I just welded that seam shut and then glassed over it. I left it on my old coe but on all my up coming projects I will weld and glass it Ron...

I'm with you as it's an ugly seam and breaks up the panel. I guess it's just weld and grind until it disappears.

R.

PS: the '38 had that vertical beer barrel shaped grille, the ugliest of any of the prewar fords IMHO but it was $15 complete with the 59L flatmotor, truck tranny and front clip. The truck fenders are way bulbous but they may just look right with fat tires under them!. Reading here I am thinking it may be time to look for a Dakota frame!
