the air could have been 0ft,,, pro stocks never run in air that good,, anyone know what it was? or if anyone else made a pass?

Well the story was posted at 11:45 so gonna guess sometime between then and 11am. At 11am the DA was -368', at 12 it was -282'....

Outstanding run for sure. And as Jeff pointed out take these numbers with a grain of salt as the air is killer this time of year.

Agreed! Unless you see Anderson, Edwards or a Cagnazzi car running on the same track; you dont get a feel for how good the run really is. If they are running .53's and you run a .49 you have found something!

Every year around this time there are Pro Stock cars collecting unbelievable time slips. You never see those times duplicated at national events though, so probably not 100% NHRA legal trim. I think they are playing head game with their competitors, looking for some good press etc......

I'm sure that has happened in the past, in fact I'm certain of it but in AJ's case, I don't think so. First off, most of the Pro Stock cars don't carry a lot of extra ballast anymore, especially if the driver is a big guy. Secondly, the whole point of testing is to gather data and learn. How much can you learn with a car that is not legal?

Vincent Nobile in the Mountain View car (with AJ power) ran a 6.50 right behind AJ. Does that mean that both cars weren't legal. Again, why would you do that, especially when you're training a new driver.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, if you look at the weather from Bradenton yesterday, the corrected altitude was only slightly above sea level. You rarely get those conditions at a national event. I don't think its much of a stretch to predict that the NHRA record will be in the 6.4s by the end of 2011. It could even happen as soon as Gainesville if the weather is right.
