Thanks for all the info guys ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif) Believe it or not, the local weld shop after some digging had one old knob laying around that fit. After some cleaning it looks alright. Now that the bottle is fixed, I find out it can't be filled ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif) No one in this small azz town has the right equipment.. The weld stores won't do it cause it's too small (10oz) and the paint ball places don't have the right adapters. I asked if I could look at their setup and they wouldn't let me. I was willing to make them an adapter ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flame.gif) Also one weld shop said even if they could fill it they wouldn't cause the date on the tank is 12-99.... They will sell me a 5 lb polished alum tank for $104.... Is this a good idea?

Those tanks can be hydrotested and be good for another 5 years. OR and the Best thing to do is build your own fill rig. Use a 5 or 10 or even a 20# tank to fill your little ones. It's called a transfill. The way it works is you turn the mother tank upside down so you are transfering liquid gas. Open the small MT tank. Open the larger mother tank. Then open the first ball valve that puts some gas into the 10oz tank. Close the first valve and open the 2nd valve that will let the gas exhaust chilling the small tank. Now your ready to fill. Be sure the second valve is closed and open the first and the tank will fill in about 5 seconds. It's real easy to over fill those tanks and have them blow the relief. So I always weigh em and release any gas over the 10 oz it's supposed to hold. Then when your done filling your tank hook your mother tank back up to your beer tap and have one. No more getting someone to fill your tank.

Why carry around 5# in your race car when 10oz is all you need?
This is serious hi pressure gas, can't just make a adaptor out of hardware store stuff, I don't blame the paint ball store.
I have been selling CO2 gas at my business since 1981. We fill, hydro test and sell a bunch of paint ball stuff.
I need my tank for this weekend. That's why I was throwing around the idea of a bigger tank and I know I can get it filled when I need it filled.
I was going to get the parts from the welding store. They had all the fittings to convert it for the paintball store...
I like your idea of making my own fill station.
I'm just kinda screwed right now with no tank ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif)
