Hi guys

Do you use a inertia shut off switch with the electric fuel pump?
I was just thinking it as a safety device, IF something unexpected happens at the strip or when driving at the streets and stop light races.
Most vehicle manufacturers with electric fuel pumps have a inertia switch fitted as standard.

Yes I do , on my street driven car i mounted it where it was easy to kick if I was ever forced out of the car under gunpoint ( i'm in So Fla). On my sons 5.0 mustang if you slammed the rear hatch if would shut it down, I would highly suggest an idiot light after the switch to keep you well informed. I like them so much I can't believe they are not part of the rule book, instead of say replacing seat belts every couple of years.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

I have used a low oil pressure switch to ground both the igntion and fuel pump relays as a safety device in the past, the spring loaded starter switch bypasses the ground when starting Make sure and have the oil pressure sender low enough to not turn on at idle during the summer with hot oil, if you don't it turns into a real hassle trying to keep the RPMs up at idle in heavy traffic
