I want to put a factory am fm cd radio back in my 97 ram. There is a aftermarket radio in there now. I noticed while checking ebay that a seller said the radio rdr number must match up. What is the ID RBR? Did they use it on a 97 ram? Mike

A regular factory radio/stereo (not Infinity or one of those)? Aren't they all the same? I can't believe they'd be number-matching anything as trivial as a radio on the assembly line.

Unless it has something to do with a theft protection?

RBR is the sales code for that certain type of radio.which happens to be a AM/FM w/ CD & EQ.,and yes they did use it in 97.and it should work fine in your truck.get me you VIN# and i'll be able to tell you how the truck was originally equiped...Hope this helps ....Alan.

Any of those radios should work as long as the tabs for the bolts are in the right spots. I think the only difference is that some have a plug for a remote or steering wheel controls or something and some dont.
