Is there any difference between a cast 340 damper versus cast 360 damper

Not the same. The 340 damper says Cast crankshaft 340 only.

They would not be the same due to the 360 having a longer stroke on its crank journals than the 340, requiring different balancing, and the 360 has always been an external balance engine, while I believe the 340 was internal balance, like the 318 for most of its production.

cast crank 340 requires 340 cast crank balancer as noted above

The reason is that the 360 balance weight is about 3 times the 340 cast crank balance weight, not even close.

Are you sure that it isn't the other way around. The 340 shaft is lighter, swinging the same rod as a 360, and heavier piston than the 360.
