Did factory hood pin cars use the safety catch?

Federal law except the 69 1/2 lift off hood cars.Would be kinda hard to have a safety latch on them.Rocky

I don't recall seeing them on the AAR/TA cars.

I know that the AAR/TA's didn't have a regular pull handle 1st latch.

My 71 RR had one until I hit my head on it. After that, the hood pins had to do...

my 73 Charger had one..... "the fang of death"

you'd raise up, and it would try and sink its miserable tooth into the base of my skull.

from then on out, a sliced tennis ball went on it at all times.

Amen brother. I 86'd the one on my 71 GTX. I've got hood pins. The safety latch is redundant.

Hoods on 71 Plymouth B's don't seem to open as high as others, making it one heck of a hazzard.

Mine had hair and flesh hanging off it, and the swear words still echo within the rafters of my garage to this day.
