Thinking about a new 300 C with the 5.7 Hemi.
What are your experiences with gas milege with these? They say 23 highway, but my truck won't beat 17. TIA

The 300C will get 23-25 mpg on the highway even at speeds between 70-80 mph. The cylinder deactivation won't be very active about 80 mph. Expect around 19 mpg in a city cycle. They're great cruisers.

At what speeds does the MDS operate ? ... is it pretty well dialed in?(no OEM recalls?)

I have a 06 300C with the 5.7.If i keep it at 60 mph i can get 25mpg, at 75mph it drops it down to about 21 or 22 mph.Great car, i love it.

My wife drives an '05 300 Hemi that we bought used last July with 45k on it. We have had several electrical issues with it and continue to do so. Do a little research on the net for problems before you buy one, I would suggest. I would not buy another newer Mopar now for any reason! The 300's have numerous electrical issues recorded on different websites. We both loved the car till the issues started. Awesome acceleration, especially at 40mph up. This car will SPANK my 426 Polara at that speed.

I just saw a video on this recently, comparing hard driving versus conservative driving in both city/hwy in a 300C.

Hard Driving
city 16-17
hwy 17

Conservative Driving
city 19
hwy 24

I was impressed with 24mpg hwy.

I don't know if you can trust the on-board computer, but my wife's 300 says 26-27mpg at 65mph.

Are the electrical issues numerous enough to stay away from this car? I don't need to buy myself a problem.

I din't know they had electrical issues?

A friend of mine is selling a used 300C SRT, but the SRT don't have the MDS so mialage wont be as good.

Excellent car. My wife and I bought her 05 new in Aug 05 and have enjoyed every minute of it. The only problem we had was the air bag light came on when new and needed a small part under the dash. The car has 50000 on it now and on her commute(which is highway and city) she gets around 20. The best we have gotten was around 26. There are some excellent incentives on these cars right now, i would get one.
