This is after I repainted the black and used chrome "Bare Metal Foil" to restore the gauge bezels. The chrome turned out okay for now. I might get reproduction bezels someday ?

Dupli-color Trim Paint. Restores OEM black. It has a very natural look.

How did you do the lettering? They always smudge for me.

I used a small tip paint pen from Michaels arts and crafts. To keep it from running out and smudging, I kept wiping the tip of the pen on paper towel and just lightly dabbing the letters. I put the first coat on light, let it dry, then lightly put more coats on till it covered.

Bare Metal Foil was designed for detailing model cars. You can order it online or pick it up at some hobby stores that sell model cars. Here is a link to their web site.

Hey all, This is one of my current projects. It's a 1968 Coronet 440 model, 318 automatic with a/c. I am in the process of changing it into a R/T Hemi clone. I bought the car in the fall of '08 and then bought a new 426 crate Hemi in the summer of '09.
Here is a pic of the car the day I picked it up.

Travis..... that was my brother Mikes car. I was going to get it from him but I wanted a 1970 model... I see your changing out the color, are you keeping the white interior??? good to see it went to a good home!!!

Mike now has a 2010 Challenger R/T Classic in Detonator Yellow... HEMI stick car.....

Here is a model I used "Bare Metal Foil" on... patience & a sharp blade + steady hand is all thats required... all the window trim, rockers & emblems are BMF.

Hi Bryan, I'm glad you found your 1970 and left the 1968 for me. Your project is looking very nice by the way.
I am changing the interior from white bench to black buckets and console. The white interior will be going in one of my 69 Coronet projects.
Is this Mike's second Challenger? I thought he had a red 2008 on order when I bought the Coronet.

If you happen to come over to the Island anytime, let me know, I'll give you a tour through the garage.

Hey again, not sure what happened to the Red Challenger but his Yellow one is killer! We are hoping to get down to P.E.I. this coming summer once we get the 70 Bee finished... both Shannon & I are looking forward to the trip... pm me with your contact info.

I didn't get near as much done to the car over the winter as I had planed. Too much snow removal that had to get done and then I ended up having hernia surgery as well.
I got the dash mostly back together. I still need to replace the glove box door with the proper one for a rallye dash.

The two corners of the trunk lid had a bit of swelling that needed some surgery as well.

Of the 100's of pics I have of my race car. I only found a couple pics on this computer. The rest I have are all taken with my old 35mm camera or by track photographers. I will have to get my son to show me how to scan them onto the computer some day.

Here is a pic taken in early 2003 while the car was still being built.

I made a few changes to the car over the last eight years. It started out with a 383 and a 8.75 rear end, and a ramcharger hood. It now has a 440 sixpack, dana 60, and a lift off hood. It use to run low 13's but now runs mid 11's.

one last pic for now.
