Like it or not, We're a different breed. 70% guys that fall within the HR-mag target-market believe the world consists of only camaro's and mustangs. The next 20% might be interested in Chevelle's and GTO's. Another 5% are street-rod guys. And then there's us. I've always liked to be different, so I never have liked Hot Rod. The only ones I'll pick up these days are: 1. Muscle Car Review. 2. Hemmings Muscle Machines.
For a while, I thought Engine Masters, from PHR had some promise, but the latest issue is nothing more than on the surface drivel.
I learn more here than in any magazine.

I agree. One really has to wonder if the GM designers took some hard looks at big block mopar designs. - Wedge. - 15° valve angle, - deep skirt block, - Cross Bolted 6-bolt mains - Relatively long rod design

If you guys want to see some decent Mopars in the mags, I will tell you the same thing they are telling people DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Nobody wants to see a warmed over A,B, or E body with some alum heads and nice wheels, that maybe runs 11s. That unimaginitive crap is in the Mopar mags. You build a truly different Mopar and the mags will line up to feature it.
Every hi-tech Mopar that has been built the last few years, has been in nearly every mag. Just not many come around.
As far as the chevy oriented engine features.....a TRUE car crafter, can take an article about anything and learn from it. All engines are basically the same, just different logos on the side.

Monte,I couldn't agree with you more, I like the articles even if they aren't my brand,,,cause I learn from it and try to somehow apply it to what I have and hope I can beat them at their own game, my car may be a but it's mine, and it is what it is because of idea's from other brand's also.

Bring back the old Super Stock & Drag Illustrated...at least it treated us gearheads with some intelligence.
Amen to that. I loved the old SS&DI mag. Dont need to read about any of the new stuff in a Mopar Muscle mag and I would not take Hot Rod and Car Craft if you gave them to me free. They have always been Chevy biased with to much Chevy crap in all their mags. And the last thing I want to read about is the L whatever eng.
I also agree Mopar Muscle has way to much new Hemi stuff and eng builds in every issue. Ron
I agree, love Super Stock and Drag Illustrated. How about Bracket Racing Magizine, that was a cool one! Matt

I tend to think in the early days magazines were started to spread information around. A group of people got together, gathered information and produced a magazine. A small number of advertisers took care of the production and (small) staff costs. The mags didn't have much additional 'luggage'.
These days magazines carry a huge luggage in the form of a large company on top with a lot of people in it not actually contributing to the quality of the mag itself, but taking care of all the stuff around it like PR, distribution, advertising, account and subscriber-administration. Mags are viewed as a source of income. Sharing information comes second to making profit. In order to keep their profits (and bonuses?) up they sell more advertising space.
Having too much luggage wasn't that much of a problem in the 90's, but now with rising costs, a lousy econy AND the fact that the Internet is here to stay, these Big Luggage-mags are having a hard time.
Maybe it's time for them to loose most of that luggage and go back to what mags initially are ment for, provide and share information.

i am more sick of reading about mopars with huge engines that run 11s...
So, it's not just me thinking that.

... have you ever read about a mopar in a magazine that is more interesting than Brad Hs challenger?
I'm a little too biased to respond to this question.
FWIW(s) 1. I try to collect useful tech info from articles, regardless of the brand of engine.
2. Even so, I've still hit the point where I've let every one of my subscriptions expire, too.

100% TRUE! I still have my car craft subscription because i think out of all the mags, its the best out there..mopar muscle absolutly sucks with all the bone stock cars or slow cars, and learning about LS engines helps me improve my knowledge in general...better than nothing when trying to learn
