Hey guys,

My brother had a 340 he was going to put in his Demon and now he has a 360. His 340 came with fan # 2863224. He would like to reuse it and was wondering if this fan would work on a fan clutch? Does it have to be modified or is it the same fan they would use for a fan clutch from the factory?

The 224 fan is a fixed 7-blade unit used with a spacer on non-A/C V8s.

It will not work with a clutch unit.

What fan number do I need to track down for use with a fan clutch? No AC will be going on the car if that makes a difference.

you need a 18" fan with the 22" radiator, i would head to the JY and look for any older style fan thats 18"

So the radiator size will be different than a non clutch 340 radiator? And being from Aurora, you know of any good junk yards in Illinois?

All 340's use the same size radiator in 1970 and all had the fan clutch.

There are a number of 7-blade fans Chrysler used with and without clutches.

What are you actually trying to make correct - the '70 340 engine or the '71-'72 Demon?

2863 215 & 2863 216 are 7-blade 18" dia. fans used with a clutch (torque or thermal).

It is a 360 now being made to look like a 71 Demon 340.

No JY that i know of that are good, i'm using a 5 blade off of a diplomat on my 71 demon, but the 215 fans are not to hard to find, harder to find a straight one, usually around $50

I've talked with them before, they seem to know what's up. My boss recomended them to me, from when he had a cuda in the 80s. Too far away for me to visit though.
