There are certain risks in ordering and paying for an unknown new product, just as there are certain rewards if the product proves to be as advertised. Conversely, if you wait for the other early order "guinea pigs" to install and test them in hopes of learning more in regards to them being as advertised or not you pay the price for acting late enough that you can be penalized by waiting longer and paying more than those who jumped in first. My advice? Send a deposit NOW and take your place in line
When I spoke with Jamie about this a while back I was told he would contact people on the list when it was time for the deposit to be sent.

Yeap, that what I was told me as well. I was just wondering if it would help to make a deposit. Maybe he could hire a few more people to help put them together faster, as I can't wait to get mine. I put off my new motor and rearend for over a year waiting for it. Then last year I bit the bullet and installed them. 4:10 gears are fun, but a speed would nmake the overall driving exsperance even bette.

I don't know about Jamie's current deposit requirements, I'd ask him. In any event, my point is, don't dilly dally, get on the list!
thanks Scott, I am going to send him an email and confirm if he wants a deposit or not.
As other have said, 40 to 45 weeks out if your ordering now. As for me, I am on the list.

I have been eyeing this thread for the past six months - I can't take it any longer! I want to get on "the list" and take my place at the back of the line.
Give Jamie a call.....

I'm in 18th spot and am still patiently waiting for this jewel. Not in a rush, as I know Jamie is doing it right. I also run 3.54's and a 29 inch tall tires, but still, dropping almost 800rpm in 4th at 70 mph would bump my mileage significantly...not to mention calming the entire driveline down. I'm currently spinning 3000 rpm at 70 mph.
I don't get how you guys run 4.10's or lower on the street with massive torque and the inherent traction issues. Even with gooey drag radials I always spin 1st & almost always halfway through second, and I'm hitting 70+mph at the end of second.
Squatting in 3rd after a downshift from 4th at 70 mph with a bit of tire smoke......3rd lasts about 2.5 seconds or less up to 105 mph from this speed. Gotta love stroked big blocks and twin disc McLeod's.
I'm worried the car would fly with a 5th gear though.

Yes, 4:10 gears, a 4 sp, and 550 ft lbs of torque makes for an interesting street machine. First gear is basically useless at anything more then quarter throttle. You barley let the clutch out and you need to push it in for second gear. Second gear sends the car sideways with the tires searching for traction. Next is third, if you feather the throttle you can get traction, but if you full throttle it, traction is still a long way off. I am not saying the a 5 sp will make the traction issue go away, but it will help with the overall drivability. It is not fun cursing to a show or dinner and being only able to drive 55 mph at 3300 rpms.
I too am on the list, wasn’t told my number, but I will wait for the day when Jamie builds mine and when it gets installed.

I'm glad I got on the list early. My 5-sp arrived two days ago and it looks great. Only problem I have now is I need another one for a customer who saw it and would like another one for my b-body.
When I die I want to go like my Grandfather did, quietly in his sleep. Not screaming like the passengers in his car.

I was one of the first 10. Can't tell you the exact number. I can tell you though I've talked to Jamie several times in the past week and the guy is working every possible hour to get these together. I'm like a little kid at Christmas this week lol.
