was also waiting for price , and thinking after seeing it about the movie used cars when he says THATS TOO ******* HIGH(youtube it). can i ask honestly what do you have ivested per unit. ill guess 300-400 in alum castings and 800-1200 in hard parts/assembly. was thinking this could be sold for 3,250 and still make 2x your $$. yes i know you have to buy large quainities of the parts from for tooling shop to make them and be worth while=lots of your$ invested. and i dont this this part adding any value to restored 4spd car. but i do think its awesome and fun part, for modified cars.

Hemigod, Since you ask, the manufacturing cost on this unit with shifter and linkage is $3865. Please keep in mind that this was developed from a clean sheet of paper. We didn't take an off the shelf trans and try to make a bunch of crossmembers and bellhousings and try to jam it into a muscle car. These things cost money. Believe me, I wish it would have been cheaper to build, but the fact is that it wasn't.
I'm not gonna sit here and lie to anyone. we are in this to make a profit. Although, I love this stuff, we need to eat too. It seems that too many times, people want a stellar product and expect companies to design, develop and manufacture the product and not make any money.
Lets face it... If this was easy or cheap to do, then why has NO ONE stepped up to the plate yet? We were the first. Would I like to make more on it, sure, but I feel that $4295.00 is a fair price when considering the options. This is what we need to sell the unit for to continue the project. Most of the feedback I have gotten has been positive, some negative. That is to be expected. I just want everyone to know where we are coming from on our pricing.
I would like to take this time to thank everyone that supported us on this project and those that continue to support us. I realize that this transmission is expensive and it isn't for everyone. But truth be told, we are really right around the same costs as the "others" out there, and this requires no mods to the car. Also, it is a true afternoon swap. In my book, there is value added to the product because of this fact. Hopefully others will agree there. Thanks, Jamie

Hemigod, Thanks for your understanding. I also appreciate that you didn't attack us. You asked a legitimate question. We had a legitimate answer. Things go so much easier when it goes that way. Truth be told, I can't believe that this post has not turned into a Passon vs. Keisler thing. I am glad that it didn't. As you know, these can get UGLY.
Anyone that is going to the PRI show, feel free to stop by and introduce yourself. we are at booth 1112. I will be happy to try answer any questions that you have. We are going to be out of the shop from tonight until Sunday night. Please be patient on returned calls and e-mails.
Also, a number of people have stated that they are interested in getting on a list for a unit. If this is the case, pm me with your name, phone number, and year and type of car that you have. Thanks, Jamie

"the manufacturing cost on this unit with shifter and linkage is $3865"
Can you define "manufacturing costs"? Does that include R&D or other sunk costs? I am trying to do some math since if your cost to make the trans is $3865, a 9-10% premium does not seem like it should cover your other expenses as well as R&D. I am just curious, what types of costs are lumped into the "manufacturing cost". Thanks Jamie!
