Transmissions are available Yes the price is now $7,000.00 - there is a significant cost increase to manufacture and some new vendors are online improving the dimensional tolerances of the parts Many would would like it outsourced to china for a lower price etc just to be cheap. Quit whining, step up or stay on the porch. I just spent a day in Capser WI with John Huff as we have known each other thru mopars since the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals 1983. Small world btw John has really cool cars that get driven and the trans test cars are just as cool. I talked to Jamie after my visit as we know each other too... Really?

I was surprised by a call from Jamie this morning. My spot came up and I will be picking up my 855 at Carlisle.

TKX still not proven on a mass scale Neither is the 5SR/A855 5 spd, seems it's had more problems just "getting out of the gate", never mind functioning properly ..... I've read enough customer complaints on other forums with the 3 entities involved that it's not worth the investment IMHO

You really can't get better than a Tremec as far as a reliable, mass produced aftermarket transmission goes. They have the facilities, the engineers, the track record, the distribution, the warranty, ... So what, with the TKX you have to cut one tiny slit in the sheet metal and weld a little strip of metal for clearance. You can get one at your front door tomorrow morning from 20 different retailers and it's warrantied and has replacement parts ready for order. Oh, it's almost half the price! And better.
Passon should have just stuck with selling repair and restoration items. I don't mean that in any derogatory way either. I buy from him with any need I have that he can provide for in the 4-speed and pedals areas.

Well, I was 18th poster on this thread on 12/01/10, I saw the first 855 mockup 10 days later at PRI in Orlando. In the meantime, I have my original Alum Passon 833, a Richmond 6 speed, a TKO600, a TKX, and a 518 and I am still on the list I believe. How time flies. Kind of sad.

Does anyone have one of these transmissions on the road and working? I personally know of two people who have them and both love them and have had no issues. Mine is still in the box waiting for me to install it. Hopefully this year.

I was on the list for eight years and got mine from Jamie four years ago. Although I was not thrilled with the lack of communication about delays and potential deliveries times. I am happy with the quality of workmanship in the unit.
I can understand that anyone building a car and waiting years for a part would be upset. For me, my car was already a driver and I ordered an overdrive unit for Passion to use while I waited. It has worked so well it is one of the reasons I have procrastinated so long in installing the 5 speed.
For anyone who wants to know I was number 285 on the list. Jamie told me he did not build or supply them in the order of the list. They where built by model type with A/B bodies being first than E bodies. He contacted the first person on the list with that type of car and offered the units to them to take or not, with the option of moving down the list if you where not ready.
