Well,
We are progressing well. The unit will be known as the A-855 5 Speed. We will be debuting the unit at the PRI show next week in Orlando. We are located at Booth 1112.

Will it bolt in place of an 833, 23-spline, 18-spline?

Jim,
It will bolt in place of an A-833. It is going to be 18 spline input. I am trying to downsize the picture enough to fit on here.

This is good news.

I hope you make enough of them, as I for one am in the market for a 5 speed.

Believe me,
I am going to hammer hard. It is of course Made in the USA. We are looking at initially making 100 units. These will be divided between A, B and E Body tails. I should have pricing pretty well finalized by the end of next week.

Have you field tested actual units? How many miles/passes are on the test units? What are the HP and TQ ratings?

Nothing worse than Beta testing new products. Just ask Keisler...

Also, Dan Brewer said the CF 18 spline clutches have been on BO for some time. Any word on availability? Sucks to buy a new tranny and have to use a second or third choice of clutches.

We are in the testing phases now. That is why I am not going to release them for the better part of 6-7 months.
I really can't answer anything about the CF clutches. In my opinion, they are 2nd or 3rd choice. I never liked them. Just my opinion though. To each his own.

Hey look at that... Thanks jbc426. I'll get the hang of this computer thing yet! Forgive the bearing retainer bolts missing and sidecover bolts missing. Note the 5 bolt bearing retainer. That covers a tapered roller bearing with an O Ring seal. We went 5 bolt for increased bearing load capacity.

Very Nice

On the pricing concept, something I remembered that might pertain. Peachtree Software many years`ago offered a full package accounting software program. It listed around $2800. After selling not many, they remarketed the program at $199?, and sold nearly millions. Not a real fair comparsion, since software has little production cost, but I think you get the picture. Even in a soft economy, if you find sweet price point, you likely will do well, and based on my history with you and your operation, you deserve it.

JCC,
That has been my concept from day one. I would rather sell a LOT and make less per unit than make a lot per unit and not sell many. HOWEVER, software cost is pennies per copy. This is not nearly the same thing. I promise that I am not going to be greedy, but we need to stay in business too.

Jamie, I thought you had said at one point that yours was going to use an integrated shifter, now from the pic it looks more like it'll take a stock shifter/rods??
