Any one know where to get the old push in style hurst handles? I can find the "bolt in" everywhere
but no repops of the push in styles.

In don't think they're out there. What body are you looking for? I might have a decent B body.

I have an A body someone put a pistol shifter in. Not sure what body style, bit it's the shortest one
there was and it's nearly straight up. To shift this thing, I need a longer arm by say 10 inches......or
find a better lever. I was thinking this one was from an E body but not sure. I need the one with an offset curve in it.

Any help?

I need the re-curve type because I have a pistol grip on it. I could do that but prefer to keep her original on the shift body.

You want a bayonet style (push in) stick with a pistol grip on it for an A-body, correct?

Yes, but it has to have the right curve on it so I dont have to lean forward to shift it.

Im pretty sure I have a stock, original 70 A body hurst handle I would trade you for the pistol grip if you want to go to a stock type shifter. If you want a pistol grip in your dart there is only one that works good. You need a pistol grip from a 71 -74 b body,non-console.

That sounds really good, but I put a shift boot in that fits the pistol grip shaft and I think the A body shaft is rounded. Would you be interested in the one I have? I could make a good deal on it to lessen the burden of getting the one I need.

To answer the original question. No, the repro Hurst handles do not work in a push in application. They ignored the 70 (and early 71) crowd and made all of the new handles with the later bolt on style base, there are other differences as well but most are cosmetic. As mentioned an original 71 B-body bench seat handle works well in an A-body but not all of them were the bayonet (push in) style, some were bolt on, you need to get the right one or modify your mechanism to accept a bolt on handle.

*BTW, I believe Gunslinger sells one that resembles a 71 B-bpdy handle, it was made and sold to fit A-body cars. They may offer a slip in version, you'd need to ask them.

I stock restored pistol grip shifters, including the one you need.

E-mail me if you are interested.

A couple of choices..
If you do want a stocker 70 push-in type, contact Wayne @ Brewers Performance.
My preference is to use the aftermarket Hurst Competition + gate, includes shifter gate stops, bolts up to the transmission with OE bracket and the after-market pistol grip handle bolts rite on.

Just my ..
