Have a set of stock steelies and want to put some tires on the wheels just to get the car up on the trailer and home.Have a pair of 225/70/14 tires laying around. Will these wheels work on the stock steel wheels?

What about if I were to put the car on a dolly(rear wheels on the ground) would the tires indicated above be ok on those rims?

you shouldn't have any problems as long as the tires are in good shape.

yah, they should be fine as long as the tires are good.

I think the rims are 4 or 5" wide on the narrowest ones.

Only if it a 5.5" wide SBP steelie, even then it's not recommened to go more than 215-70x14.
Most SBP steelies are only 4.5" wide, largest recommended tire is 185-70x14.

He just wants to get it home on them, not run a race.

For what its worth, I had 235/60/14's on stock small bolt pattern wheels on a car I drove daily.

So towing it on a dolly, or rolling it onto a trailer won't be a problem.

i ran 225/70/14s on small bolt pattern ralleye wheels which i think were 5.5 inches wide. they cleared on all four corners of a 70 dart swinger and looked damn good too. no significant bulging or goofy tire wear observed. jp in ks.
