I know they pretty much require that you hand build them for each application to be most effective.

Does oil wrapping around the crank really sap that much HP?

What's the minimum clearance should I have between the
crank and the scraper?

What materials do you guys make them out of?

Mr Personality(WJ) did an extensive article for National Dragster some years back about oil and oiling systems ...etc.

He liked scapers ... very much so. And I will bet that every PS car has one on it.

Suppossed to be worth 10+HP on a slant!

What is this about factory SB windage trays being junk?

The longer the stroke and the higher the rpm the more they are worth.

Slants are long stroke, just short on "inches!"

There is a guy in Florida who builds them for about any engine you want. IIRC, he usually has an ad on E-bag.

I have one in my Slant. It did require grinding and trimming to get it in just like the windage tray did.

I would be very surprised if the dyno showed I gained 10 horse from the scraper and tray together.

Unless you plan on spending a lot of time above 3500 rpm I wouldn't bother.

Scrapers are worth power on any application. On A engines use a scraper only. On B eninges use with a tray.
