408 stroker,590 MP cam,eddy heads,super victor intake,750hp.
Trans 904,low gear set with 4.30 X 9 slick (92")
Weight 3420 w/driver
Sorry no dyno sheet otherwise i'd go 4-500 over torque reading.
I just came back from the track and the higher stall converter i just put in didn't work for me.
Play back showed 5700 flash and 120 mph at 6800 rpm's at the traps.

why are you saying it didn't work? you are tire limited so thats going to play a roll unless you really have the chasis figured out.

The chassis on this car as old of a set up as it is and reguarded as a joke by some does hook well.
Today was the last day to go to the track and the temps were 52* and we had lots of wind, but tail wind.Track was cold but i didn't feel it spinning until the last pass but the 60' times were slow.1.51-1.50-1.54 (spun)but i'm usually 1.46 and consistant.Todays 1st pass the shift light came on at the 1000' mark so i knew it was revving a lot more then usual. Most of the time the light will come on at the stripe. It was the same for the other 2 passes. My play back showed the car flashes to 5700 and goes up after that. The other converter would flash to 5500.
I think i'll be pulling it back out and putting my other back in and send this one back again.

It's one of the better converters out there,it's 8" Ultmate and the other one i run is a TCS 8"
Niether one are cheap!
This was the last day of the year for testing and i'm the type that can't sit around and wait for next year just to find out it has to come out anyway.

Just tested the new engine in my old Duster today. Went 10.58 @ 122 today and it has 4.10 gears 28X10 mickeys with 88 circumference and crosses the line at 6700. Shows 10.45 percent slip. Converter flashes to 5400.

Close to the same engine specs as you and we don't run a low gear set and I am a couple hundred lbs lighter then you are.

Could tighten the flash up but if you are bracket racing sometimes its better to be on the loose side.

What 60' times are you getting? That's a nice pass

1.40 on this pass. Forgot to add I run the 2.45 first gear in this 904 too. Would be too hard to hook consistently with the 2.76.

I used the formula on Wallace racing and it said this converter had 12.46 slip and my TCS had 7.36.
Which formula did you use?
These F-body cars have a lot against them as the torsion bars are right up front and hard to get the weight balanced on them. This car is all steel and stock interior.
