Looking for a formula to mix a quart of DBC. The old PPG # is 22440. It is "Light Tan" on the 65 Plymouth chart. Help ???

Have your ppg distributor check in omni base, or otherwise they may have to mix by eye. I've come to find out that alot of the older colors are not avaliable in dbc, and if they are then they have a color variance. Which is (to me) usually really close to what your looking for. Just remember your dealing with paint tech from the early sixties, and trying to make the same thing in 2008 sometimes just can't be done. Good luck!

You are correct. I was able to get it only in Omni DBC. Interestingly, I can get it in laquer or enamel ok. I might have to spray some out in laquer and then have the prophet machine look at it...

What's DBC? Is that base/clear? What's wrong with Deltron? I have a '68 Charger R/T with the original metallic gold paint that was sitting outside in the sun of SoCal, unwashed for 10 years when I got it. A coat of wax and it looked like new. I have a '69 Dart, original paint, canary yellow, always outside in Seattle. Also beautiful when waxed, although thin in some areas. What I'm saying is the original paint was acrylic enamel, and it lasts a long time in the elements. I'm sure you will take better care of your car than mine have been over the past 40 years. When I paint my cars, that's what I was going to use--Deltron. Should I rethink my decision?
