The plus side, is that the 727 in worth enough, that you could probably broom it and have enough to buy a killer glide. The trans you need, would be in the $3500 range and a good one will last no problem in your combo. Now if you think the 3 speed is the way, about the only option is a Rossler or Hutch T-400. Either one will be high, but they are virtually bullet proof. Another plus of the GM trans, is more room for better converters. The bell depth on a Mopar is less. That limits what cores can be used. We have all seen the issues of the flexplate bolts, touching the converter in a 727. That is just because there is barely enough room to get the needed core in there. The GM trans opens up options there.

Nobody, and I mean **NOBODY** hates a GM trans in a Mopar more than me, makes me all cranky and sad ! That being said, there are times when the Rossler 400 or a Glide are the better choice, and as much as I hate to admit it, yours is one of those times.

A Glide with the big hair dryer you have makes the most sense and will probably spool the turbo harder and go faster.

There, I said it and now I'm off to take a shower to try and wash the dirty feeling away

Anyone want to trade a nice 727 for a bullet glide

You will not be hobbling around on crutches if you have a aftermarket billet front drum.
Stock front drums can explode, Billet drums has been tested past 30,000 rpms with out failure.

For that level of horsepower with a turbo car I would not worry about needing much gear multiplication, let alone 6 forward gears.

Put a powerglide in it, load those turbos and then hold on for the ride.
