Check the oil pressure relief valve.I believe it is in the front cover on the drivers side.I do recall a problem with some cam bearings early on but that was gone after the first model year.No problem with the babbit ones only the one piece tri metal style.I think they changed to the babbit bearings in 96 or during that year..I would still check them as they may have been damaged by the camshaft failure and lost their press fit and are spinning with the camshaft.

Made a visit to the dealership. Here's what they said. Camshaft bolt broke, damaged the end of the camshaft and the gear. Cam bearings and cam lobes looked good. Replaced camshaft and lifters, timing stuff. Engine had some sludge, no apparent oil pump, etc. problems. Upon reassembly, oil pressure is dropping below 10 at hot idle, no better than 45 at acceleration. Engine is now missing, valve train is tapping moderately loud.
But, a slight existing engine knocking has gotten worse, and tech thinks main bearings are shot. He thinks that is where low oil pressure and tapping is coming from, along with probable valve damage from the break. Makes sense to me. Do you agree.
Now, I must decide which dose of poison will taste the least worse.

If the dealer serviced the engine and returned it to you with no oil pressure, they need to replace/rebuild the engine. If they did not release the truck to you and it has no oil pressure it's a different story. Look at the mileage on your repair order and compare it to the mileage on the truck. If they put miles on it with no oil pressure, they owe you an engine. *EDIT* oopsie! I see you already got your truck back.
If they insist the problem is yours and yours alone, things get sticky.
If their tech pulls the engine, you need to be there when he disassembles it. That's when you see what caused the damage.

Sounds like the dealer might be at fault. Hope this gets resolved tho
