Hi All: Is there any protocol for the colors on these pie tins? What I mean is, does an orange tin go on a Dodge car and a red tin go on a Plymouth, or vise versa, or????? If you have a car with an original pie tin, please chime in and let us know the color. I have several of these cars and need to get the correct pie tin for each car. Thanks for your input!!

I was always under the impression the red tins went on red or turquoise engines, and the orange tins went on orange engines.

RED tins up to & including 1969 model year engines, the ORANGE tins started with the 1970 model year.

1970 Challenger 340 , Dec 1969 SBD . I have no reason to believe the orange tin was not original

Dan: Does 1969 in this case stand for the model year or the year? IE: A 1970 Challenger made in 1969 would have what color tin?

Jules: Would all 71 pie tins come as a Super Commando 383? Is that the stardard one for 383+4 cars, both 70 and 71?
