My 440 came with no exhaust studs in it. Stock heads. Can anyone tell me which I need from this drop down menu? These are grade 8 and about 62-80 cents a piece. Year One and Mancini get like 3 bucks a piece or more. Any reason for that? http://www.allensfasteners.com/detail.asp?Product_ID=23003

go to any decent harware store. I got a complte set for about $16. If you have problems let me know I can get you a set.
There is a nice hardware store near me I can check. I just need to know:
1)overall length
2)length of side that goes into head
3)length of side that headers and gasket hang on
ahhhh ok wait one

over they are about 1.5" the course thread (in the head) is about 9/16" then you have about 1/4" of dead space and 11/16" of fine thread.
Thank you. I will ride over tomorrow and see if they have a set. If not, I will get back to you if you don't mind.

When I went back to studs on the 440 I just went to my local parts store. They had them in Dormans.I believe mine were about 1 1/2 inch.I run a thick type washer and the TTIs have a thick flange.I only have 2 bolts holding the headers on all the rest are studs. With the aluminum heads I dont even need them.Rocky

Well, the hardware store did not have them. I ordered the Dorman's off of ebay super cheap.
