Looking at the new but CHEAP headers: Hedman/Flotech etc. Would PREFER TTI or DOUGS, but cant afford them now. I would be interested in a used set????????

some sites say the cheap brands will not fit PS cars, others dont mention it. I was also told that if there is a problem, a small dimple in the tube near the PS GEAR box will solve the problem.

COMMENTS? PS what brands do you recomend?

George

I have Hedmans. No issue with the PS box.Had to make clearance on one tube for the column though. Were a PITA to install and ,of course, they hang very low. I don't like them but i bought them used very cheap so they will do, at least for now. If i were buying new, i think i would get the Dougs. Quite a bit cheaper than the TTIs.

For me there is no in-between option, either TTI or manifolds. I hate to have headers drag on the ground and I hate denting them and I hate when they will not seal, I also hate when I can not get the starter in and out easily, I hate when they are so thin they rust out in no time, therefore I use either manifolds or TTIs.

If you buy TTI, you're only out the extra money. If you buy less expensive and they don't fit, hit the steering, get flattened under the steering you're out you whole investment. A long time ago I didn't want to spend the extra $ for the 5 speed trans. I hated driving the freeway because the engine was buzzing more that I wanted. After 8 years, I figured that it would only have cost me $40.00 extra a year if I had bought the 5 speed. If I was driving on auto pilot, I would try to shift when I was already in 4th gear. I felt so stupid that my thrift/stupidity made me not enjoy taking trips in my car. You won't regret the extra money in less than a year!!
