Seeing this, I would lean towards the "SP" being interpreted as 'special color' as that would make more sense as an indicator or aid during the manufacturing process than 'spring color'

If that were true, then wouldn't you see the same thing written on 99/96 Butterscotch/Bahama Yellow cars? My two cents....

That was probably my old Ragtop I sold to a friend in California. It was real solid and ran but needed a resto. It was a 99 paint code.

Do you know the name of who you sold it to? I'd like to be able to trace down the cars history/previous owners (and locations) if possible. Thanks, Joe

Does anyone have the Formulas for these colors?

My paint guy just mixed a gallon of F6 Green, said there was 100g of yellow, some black, green and metallic.

I think there may be some blue in Rally Green?

Yellow and Blue make green all jokes aside when my friend has his painted there was red flakes in it. Weird but they were there.

Doc Mopar, I sold that ragtop back in 1999 to a Phil Russo of Macomb Twp. I brought it back from Little Rock Ark.

My old 69RR vert (nom) also was spring colored with R4 ext. and white interior. It too came out of Georgia and was well optioned with buckets, console auto, a/c, pw, pdb, ps, white tape stripe, white top, fender bullets, etc. Car went to the Dallas area in fall 2004 where the new owner said he was going to put a hemi in it. Sheesh.

Which color? F6 or Rallye?

My GF has that she sees more blue in the Rallye Green.

I went to my ppg supplier and we revisited the 999 spring green color as the first test batch was too dark. It is the color of most of the restored cars I have collected pics of. See pic

We then looked in the Rinson Mason [R-M] color charts and matched a part of the car to the chips.
999 Spring Green A8605 U300452. Using the ppg computer we crossed referenced the RM numbers to this formula.

The ditzler formula made from the ditzler number 44032 is incorrect.

left - F6 from the ditzler formula [looks wrong]

center- Spring green from the ditzler formula

right 999 Spring green made from the the cross referenced RM Numbers A8605 U300452.

This is the picture of my previous Road Runner convertible's fender tag. The color was custom mixed in RM brand paint, and matched to the original paint found under the quarter belt molding. It matches the original perfectly!

My part time boss bought that car for $10K, fixed it up for $5K, and sold it for $21K to the guy that owns it now. That is a very cool original car that will need a resto!
