What's a rough estimate of what a body is worth? It's just the body shell and doors. Looks to be in decent shape northeast rustwise. It's a 5-window coupe, suicide doors. I'd like to try to buy it, the guy isn't really interested in selling.

WOW that jump is pretty far from $2000.-$20,000

I would say any coupe body would be worth more than $2000.
I seen a 33 willys coupe body at the LA roadster show about 6-7 years ago that sold for $20,000. and it needed a lot of work.
a 33 dodge wont be worth what a willys is worth,
my brother just bought a 34 ply coupe off ebay for just under $10K and it is a very solid body but it is complete and need to be made into a streetrod, it has a fatman frontend, engine and trans mounts in it for a 360/518, it has NEW running boards, windshield frame & bumpers.
so it depends how solid the one you know of is.
I would guess for a body, doors and trunk lid around $3500-$6000 again depending on the shape of it Ron....

P.S. I am glad I bought the 2 that I have about 14 years ago for $1,800. for the pair

Yeah, I was being a little silly. I know it's hard to judge prices without detailed pics, but I just need a rough idea. I can find pickup bodies, but this is the first coupe I've ever seen. It doesn't help that I'm ONLY interested in Mopars. If I talk to the guy and he says he wants $4K for it, I wouldn't know if he's nuts or I'm nuts. You've given me something to go on now, THANKS!

I'd check for patch panel price/availability.
I'm from the southwest, and when someone says NE rust, I picture something like Miss Belvedere.
If it's fairly fixable (only the bottom 2 inches, some dents and a couple small rust spots), I'd guess ~2k. A title, extra parts or better condition would bring more.

If the guy does not really want to sell it, you will have to make a rather large offer to tempt him.
I guess he must be one of the
" I'll get around to fixing it up sometime "
Make the offer you think you can work with and if that's no acceptable, leave it alone and go on to the next.
It would be hard for me though, A 33 Plymouth five window is probably my favorite car.

My problem is I haven't seen another for sale. I hate finding something and either buying it for way more than it's worth or passing on it only to find out later that it was a really good deal. (I really like them too!)

If the link works, here's one to compare to, that's not that far away from you either:

I'll try again if the link doesn't work.

Decent bodies with no major rust are priced from $3500 - $5000 when I see them at swap meets but most of them are going home at the end of the day. They look great, Chrysler did the top chop for you compared to fords, etc.
BTW, the two-door sedan is also really mean looking, would make a great rod.

The 33coupe with the PD frame for 3,000.00 is a good deal. The floyd rielly patch panels are a excellent product and reasonbly priced. I bought my 33 ply cpe in 1968 for five dollars, it has cost me tens of thousands since, but iv'e been driving it for 38 yrs.

I'd sure buy it if I had the $$$$$ and was there. If you hadn't noticed, they aren't hiding behind every barn! Way too good to pass up.
