thanks randy the shocks are c/e and with the car at static height when i pull them off at the bottom they extend 3 in beyond the shock stud i think they bent from axle wind up because the top of the brace hit the shock body

good picture jcc last nite and today we made the shock studs longer and spun up some spacers to give us clearance replaced the springs and shocks should be good for norwalk then i will set car at static height and mark the back brace and cut it like yours nice touch with the holes to lighten the brace thanks again

Had the same problem on our 64 Plymouth. They were too close for comfort with the back braced 8-3/4". I ended up drilling a hole in the trunk floor in line with the original shock holes, reinforced the trunk floor and ran a long bolt through all three holes (near the sender wire on the left and under the spare tire hold-down on the right). The shocks were installed on the section between the trunk floor and the rear shock mount. Had plenty of room and never had a problem with them contacting the rear. BTW, we ran Mancini SS springs w/o a snubber.
