I don't think that would be my first option. I'd try to tuck the bar up into the K frame if possible.

Andy, IF you had to mount the bar 1.5" lower( on the bottom of the Kframe instead of through it)-using 1.5" square tubing instead of the flat 1/4" plate supplied--- do you see any drawback?
I do not think ground clarance would be an issue as my oil pan is the low point.
It does look like it would interfrere with the "Jacking" point on the bottom of the k frame.

Do you have a 67-72 style biscuit motor mount K-member? Then, Hellwig makes a tubular front sway bar for that application. And it has very stout and nice front K-member brackets.

If you have high backspace front rims, Hellwig also has a 67-72 sway bar that has bent in arms for rim clearance. They may make all their 67-72 sway bars like that now.

Our plan at the moment is to use a '72 K-frame with a '73 style anti-sway bar. Tim is busy with tools of destruction and construction making it happen.

BTW they made 72 biscuit K-members with 73 style through sway bar bottom halves. I saw one in a stock /6 car a year ago in a shop (have pics). And I have pictures of a V-8 one.

I think there are 69 B-bodies that had that same kind of thing done to them.

Like they just made a running change in the model year.

...Could that be a possiblity for you guys? Just unwelding the bottom of a 73 K-member and swapping it into a 72 down top piece?

the area in the middle of the k frame has a bar welded through for support. Years ago I sliced and diced the kframe for an oil apn.

Where? Here's a 73-76 V-8 K-frame.

Here's that 1972 /6 with biscuit motor mount, 68-72 suspension linkage BUT thru mount stamping used for bottom of K-member. BTW this car had disk brakes and 489 cased 8 3/4 rear end.

Another factory weirdo A-body K-member. You can see the holes for the wide 72-68 sway bar mounts even though the K-member has a thru sway bar bottom stamping on it.

This K-member I think would do what you can Tim are trying to accomplish??

Notice the biscuit type K-frame motor support. Crazy half bred factory piece.
