I'm fixin to install electronic on my '69 Coronet. So what are my options instead of the orange box? Where to find a good one? How will the Chrome hold up for everyday use? The last conversion I did was about 10 years ago, no problems with the orange units then.
Street racing is a mystery to most people, but I've got it figured out. If it blows up with a single 4, go dual quads. If that goes, inject it. And fix it fast.

Before my car went into the body shop i put 6000+ miles on my car a year for 3 years with no problems.
My girlfriends Dart right now has an ornage box for 2 years now with no problems however she only put on maybe 100 miles on it

I ran orange boxes galore until 10-15 years ago. All of the sudden I had failure after failure. I run chrome boxes on everything now- my motorhome has a chrome box. Trouble free.
My only deviation is my Jensen Interceptor. I went with an FBO setup, it works awesome.

it smoothed out the idle, makes for crisper acceleration,
I wanna try an E coil w & wo the HEI module to see which is making the most difference. What is the white "thermal paste"? It's gotta be better than the dielectric grease I was using and the small capsule that come w those modules has the white paste. I didn't have any probs but I'm paranoid about (ign) breakdowns and anything I can do ahead of time to better my odds...
Not sure what the white paste is made of, all I know is it helps to transfer the heat the heat sinc, so your module won't fry. As to which component is helping the most, I think its 50/50. The module is has better capabilities, especially in higher RPM's, and the coil fires hotter, so together...KABLAM

What's the brand/part # of the paste so I can grab some. Reportedly GM back in the early 70's hired some retired NASA space scientists who subsequently developed the HEI module . I've ran it & it does kick out one heck of a spark & Jacobs ign also reports that it it the only module that increases dwell as rpm increases.
