Thanks Ryan. One (but 3 parts) more and I'll leave it alone (maybe)...
Is the runner length of the Indy intake longer than the SV, and if so how much and how do you think that effects the power.
Yes it's visibly longer than the SV, although I have not measured the SV. I have never put an INDY on anything that has not ran quite well, did'nt matter if it was a 500 HP flat tappet 340, Dirt track W2 360, 450" INDY -1 motor making 760+ HP. It is just a great very versitile intake manifold that works well on a wide variety of engines. I'd loved to have dynoed this thing with this intake & then an RPM Air gap.... but was'nt to be.
Okay ONE more: Good 'ol epoxy in the intake ports?

KB's with a dish in .08" OS--not that I know of. 6000+ rpm peak hp on a 418 ci with that CS? BIG cam though, WOW! J.Rob
KB745, Avail in 4.00", 4.03", 4.04", 4.06", 4.07", 4.08"
Learn something new every day
Actually I just checked my catalog and KB745's are only available up to 4.06" So the catalog is wrong I guess but at least I read it right. J.Rob
Get the newest catalog, It's also avail online in pdf form online. Technically these are "icon" pistons, which is new name for the KB Forged stuff, but still listed in teh KB catalog as a KB745.

Ryan - what gas were you using for the testing?
92 @ first & then we threw a splash of race in it to try to cool off a couple cyls that had pretty high EGT's @ top end of a pull, just to see if fuel would do anything, cooled them a hair (20-30 degrees) but still ran fairly warm for what the AF #'s were showing us. It was actually more a function of low timing that was causing the higher EGTs, we were starting in the 28 range, which I thought would be OK, but not with this combo. Bumped to 30 then 32.... helped little @ time, but Once we got above 35, the EGT's came down about 60-80 degrees up top. I was just really surprised how much timing it needed.

hey ryan if the total timing was 38*,where did the base timing end up at?thanks mike
I just ran it with a locked out MSD dyno distributor. It will be fine with anywhere above 16 initial & light springs that come in quick. It idled really good @ around 850 RPM, did not check vacuum....

how much for a pair of heads prepped like that?
Also is it dynoed with 1 7/8" headers?
Im planning a build like that but with super victor and a street flat mech cam. But i have Je flat tops with 6.8cc valve reliefs. Do you think the chambers can be opened up to about 72 cc without too much work?
I'll PM you on price
Yes they were 1 7/8 primaries, the Ex port is so small on these I doubt a small header would hurt much at all.
72 CC would require pretty radical re-shape of chamber.... I think these ended up @ 66, with a .004" cleanup cut on deck & after the valve job sunk seats a hair more than OOB.
