Doing my first resto and have a question. When installing a trunk floor pan and extensions is it necessary to have the quarters on and located? Preferably I would want them on to help properly locate the floor pan, but I was wondering if it could be done without them. Im trying to decide if I need to buy the quarters now too. Money is tight like always and that is why I am asking. Any install advice?

Hey . . . I to am going to be doing my own metal work in the near future (I hope) . . . I have bought the complete quarters, outer wheel house, trunk floor (one piece) and trunk floor extensions. . . .

My idea was going to be to take one side off the car (quarter panel) and then do the trunk floor, as I would be able to slide it in from the one side. I think it will be easier this way . . . maybe I am wrong ???

Cheers

Mark

I would have the 1/4's on to locate the trunk ext. The aftermarket replacement parts are close, but the are never right. You have to cut, bend, twist, hammer.....etc. to make all these parts to work together.

cut a long bed floor down and put it in a short box

little off each end and the tub cut in

hand rubbed with filler on the end cuts

very interested in how you would do a car now..what a learning curve body work can be
