I've got several synchro/blocking rings to choose from for a tranny freshening here...........
the "New" synchro's have a better inner surface that rides on the gear cones but they appear to not have the nice "points" that I've been told to look for.
Some used synchro's I have actually have nicer, well defined "wedges" or points that would otherwise be called "dogteeth" but not as prominent of ridges that would slow down the gear cones.
I'm tempted to go with the used synchro's since all of them don't bottom out when fitted to the gears. New, old, all are about the same. I can get some actual measurements later.
Which is the priority, machined cleanly flanked teeth or the ridges on the tapered inside???

68LAR,
Thanks, that's the wisdom of experience I was looking for. And, in that case, my used synchro's are NICER than my NEW (meaning recently purchased with cash/money) ones. Go figure.
