stock my lines were 3/8 to the radiator. I looked on summit's website but couldnt come up with a 3/8 inverted flare to an.

Also, what size an are you running? -4 or -6?

Thanks guys!

I wish I could help with sizes, but I cant remember, I made them years ago. I believe I cut and made the line ends at the AN cooler... so there is no AN to flare.
do a search on google for AN fittings, there was a few good sites where you could get all kinds of obscure weird fittings. I do remember it being a pain in the but. Good luck

The original 727 lines were 5/16" which is equivalent to AN5 but AN5 is an orphan size so AN6 is the preferred size, AN4 is too small.

I bought a BIG roll of 3/8 alum line some years back and have used that .. it is lite and disapates heat well. Just use the high pressure FI hose with the proper clamps ...

I use AN male nipples 37 degree flare to pipe male fittings(different sizes, # 6 to #12 and in between) all the time, is this what your calling inverted flare? If so you will need the proper size nut, collar and flaring tool for the size you want to use If you want to use AN stainless covered hose make sure and order teflon lined hose, not neopreme

I've used copper hard line flared at the ends for the last 20 years and no issues. It gets rid of heat along route as well.

here's what i came up with.

From the radiator im going to use the inverted flare to -4 an, -4 to -6 reducer, then -6 to the tranny, -6 to -4 reducer, -4 to 1/8npt into the tranny.

Sound good? Im starting to think 3/8 alum line would be easier!

Got a link to that website with all the crazy oddball fittings?

I buy some AN supplys from Summit and some from G&J Aircraft Surplus, 909-986-6534, in CA. G&J use to have (I haven't been to there store in quite a while, 15 YRS or so) a lot of surplus AN hoses in all sizes and lengths and linings They where very reasonably priced also Do you know if the pipe threads in the radiator and the outlet size on the cooler lines from the tranny are 1/8 pipe or 1/4 inch pipe thread? I think you can buy double male nipple reducers from 1/8 pipe to both #4 and #6 AN, if I remember correctly the trans outlet pressure to the radiator is under 20 lbs so pressure is not a issue, the tranny fluid temps are the reason for using Teflon line stainless hose

Im still using the stock radiator. 99 dakota, the cooler lines run to the radiator via 3/8 line. So i have to get inverted flare to an at the radiator. As far as the tranny, yes its 1/8 npt. I wish i could find some 3/8 inverted flare to -6 and 1/8 npt to -6, ill call that place tomarrow and do some hunting around. Thanks for the reply's!!!

If you have a hydraulic hose supply store nearby they use 37 degree fittings also Most of there stuff is intended for high pressure and hot All of the hydraulic fittings I have bought are steel, no aluminum unless you ask for it and then they have to order them

Cab, Russell hose is rated to 350 degrees. I can't speak for the generic stuff. Check out this chart. Thanks Russell spec page

Thanks bill!!!

Im going to go with the russel proflex hose.

For 3/8 inverted flare the thread is 11/16? I havent got a pitch gauge on it yet.
