Well, I discovered something that should work in theory...if you cut the hump out of each wheel well using the exact same template for both sides, you can swap the cutouts from left to right and then weld them back in (essentially upside down) and voila, you no longer have that recessed hump filling up vital space inside your wheel well.

Maybe this will better explain what I mean. Here is a side view:

And here is a view from underneath looking up:

I will take pics as soon as I get to this step in my project...hopefully soon. If I create a functional template I will also make that available to you guys.

Hey Bill never even thought of something like that. I suppose to could cut out that dip and just fabricate a piece to put in there. I may do that. Thanks for the idea. Adam

Some dude did that with my '68 Charger. Except, instead of welding the cut piece back in, he filled the wheelhouse with bondo and used rubberized undercoating to hide it.

Woohoo, go CBill. I, for one, am awaiting the templates! Hopefully you can get them finalized before the car's ready to go in for paint

I will...along with template placement and a downloadable version of the template, but I have to make sure it will work before I can promise anything. (like my disclaimer? )
