IM HAVEING TROUBLE WITH SPARK IM THINKING COIL , BUT MY QUESTION IS if your coil has negative and positive side the 73 has a duel resister on fire wall witch sends six volts to the coil, but i have six volts on positive terminal and six volts going out the negative side going back to the spark control unit is this corect and the ground somhow in the spark control?or is this coil bad

The coil itself has very low resistance, because it's just a winding of wire. The 'magic' happens when a change in voltage causes induced voltage in the secondary windings a.k.a spark.

motor runs ruff at idle the hotter the motor gets the worse it runs i hook a tach to it and cant get even fire it jumps almost three hundred rpms at idle up and down every thing has been replaced except votage regulater , spark control unit is new and checked , new distributor ignition timing my be off a degree or two but dosent seem to make a diference , timeing chain my have 15000 miles on it so im thinking coil ive had a short in the fuse box that sent twele volts to the coil and the rest of the system and hasnt been right sence any sugestions would help.
the coil dose have six volts coming out both terminals dosent seem to be grounded but if i run a strait ground to the fire wall it just kills the motor

Does your wiring look like this:

I don't think it's the coil but to satisfy your fears:
Remove the coil entirely.
Get an ohm meter and connect one lead to the +terminal and one lead to the -terminal.
The resistance should be minimal (less than 1 ohm).
Now take one lead and connect it to the center terminal. It should read ~10k ohms.
Reading voltage is useless.

Not allways i ohmed out a msd blaster that showed 1/4.7 ohms but when installed it was showing 5.5 v at the pos term, spare coil shows 8v with key in run. was having start problems
