Pretty much out of the box on mine. Machinist check them over and said they were good to go! Over 2000 miles on them with no issues.
2K doesn't even come close to finding out if they're junk or not. Talk to me in another 48k.
.. .. would a 906 look that great after 50k of performance miles also?

They are assembled here in the states.
They are?
If that's the case then why won't his majesty sell them bare anymore?
Now thats funny!!! LMFAO!!!
I wondered the same thing about buying buying a bare set.
Sorry, have either of you thought about the inventory/stocking issues of bare/assembled. That may have something to do with it beyond the assembly point location.
Not picking a dog in the fight, cause I don't have one, just a point of view from a business perspective.
No, I didnt look at it line by line and disect it and come up with an analyitical opinion, I really dont care enough to think through the logistical issues that it takes to stock heads, I just wondered why they didnt sell them bare is all. It doesnt mater to me either way, I bought what they offered.

this topic is one of the good reasons i joined... i my self bought the STEALTH head....i bought them about 2 years ago....i ported them my self.....changed the springs, retainers, lock's and valves....also the valves i used are 3/8 valve stem so i changed the valve guides from 11/32 to 3/8.... also got the right COMETIC head gasket made for that overhang they talked about( the BORE hole) .....my 440 is a 30 over stock steel crank with 9;to 1 comp ratio.... for a long story short,......i made 430HP to the rear wheels on Motor and got 611HP with a 175hp fogger shot to the rear wheels... i hit the track and got very good ET's and MPH.....can't give my times cause i STREET RACE but i have nothing bad to say about the STEALTH HEAD'S .....

Here's my Challenger build. I am very happy with what I've gotten from 440Source!! Why spend a ton of money. I think it is about time the industry quits ripping us off for parts for these cars. Some people on MOPARTS seem to have a personal issue with Brandon and 440Source, ignore them. Like any part, have it checked over before installing. It is common sense. Over two years and 4500 mi. NO PROBLEMS!!!! 1974 440 .030 over bore, decked .025 (to incr. compression) 440source 4.150" stroker kit -24cc dish pistons (Piston tops machined .040 to incr. compression) 440source Stealth Heads (Only mods, machined to reach final 10.5:1 compr. and 3 angle job) Edelbrock RPM Intake (Machined .050) Comp Cam #21-000-5, 237 - 237 @ 108 +4 degr., .526 lift MOPAR Hydraulic Lifters, pushrods, timing set, thin crank vibration damper and stamped rockers Holley 4150HP 950 Carb, 77 mm. jets 1 7/8" headers 440source 7 qt. oil pan Penn Grade Break-in oil MOPAR Perf. windage tray 3.55 gears 28" Rear Tires 4-speed Dyno Results: 494 ci. FWIW, when brandon explained it, that was the issue. His response was most people ordering the bare heads where actually ordering the bare heads + valves. He decided it wasn't worth the extra effort to sell heads without the springs/retainers/locks so he made it the full package or nothing.

a basically stock 383.
I would KEEP whatcha' got. Now if you stick a 440 or 4.15 crank in that 383 ...OR put-in some hi-compression pistons with a decent-lift cam ...
..... THEN consider alum heads.
